How do fireworks work ?
Black powder and the art of making explosions have been known by the Chinese since at least the eighth or nineth century. In Europe, black powder was brought back by Marco Polo from China. It has been used for firearms since 1346. The first real firework was fired at Anne of Austria and Louis XIII’s wedding in 1615. It contained black powder, gold dust and silver dust.

Ils ont abordé le thème « Energie » du programme de Sciences de la vie et de la Terre, ont compris l’origine du charbon, les implications (humaines et environnementales) de son extraction et plus généralement réfléchi à l’impact planétaire de l’utilisation des différentes énergies renouvelables ou non à notre échelle.
Du 10 au 13 Avril 2012, une soixantaine d’élèves de 1ère S ont parcouru les grands sites alsaciens dans un programme de visites alliant histoire, géographie, géologie, écologie, plaisir. La presse régionale s’en est fait l’écho.

I’ve been to Australia during the summer holidays for about three weeks. Then I received an Australia correspondent at my home for more than a month. Actually it was my sister’s correspondant, so she went to Flaubert High School. She flew back to Australia a month ago. During the time we had to eat on the Wednesday of the trip to London, I decided to visit the Natural History Museum of London, which is free and located near the place we visited in the morning : the Science Museum. I have completely visited only two rooms in the museum but I have also strolled in the rest of the museum.
So the first room I have completely visited was the minerals gallery : there are a lot of stones coming from all over the world and almost all type of stones or (…)
Etienne Ghys, un "passeur de mathématiques" (ENS Lyon) propose un film d’animation en 9 parties sur les dimensions, téléchargeables (dimensions 2, 3, 4, nombres complexes...) sous licence creative commons donc utilisables dans un lycée. 2 h de promenade mathématique sur les dimensions.
